Helambu village is culturally rich and worth visiting from Kathmandu. It is easily accessible by road up to the trekking starting point. The trek to Helambu village is easy and short and highly recommendable for senior citizens and families with kids. It is one of the nearest Himalayan treks possible from Kathmandu. During the trek, one can enjoy the Langtang Himalayan peaks and beauty of nature in its purest form. The simplicity of the life style of the local folks living in the region is so inspiring that surely leaves a positive impression in one’s life. The local culture and rituals of the Helambu are influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism.

After breakfast in Kathmandu we begin our journey first by the overland drive up to Sundarijal and then the trekking trail takes us through Shivapuri National park,  paddies terraces & green forests of oak and rhododendron, all set against a distant horizon of mountain peaks. On the way, we visit several Tamang and Sherpa settlements and meet friendly people who have strong family & cultural ties. In short, we can remark that Helambu village trek is a short escape into the serenity of nature mixed with adventure and culture. March, April, October, and November are the best trekking season of  Helambu village trek.
