Exploring Gosainkunda Lake is once in a lifetime experience for the trekker . Gosainkunda,  most regarded as  a sacred lake  is  as a major pilgrimage spot  for both Hindus and Buddhists. The route from the Langtang valley up  to Gosainkunda is full of  natural and cultural diversity which  attract many tourists. According to  Hindu religious mythology,  Gosainkunda Lake is  accepted as true that  it  has  been created by Lord Shiva when he thrust his Trishul (trident) into a mountain to extract water so that he could cool his burning throat after swallowing poison which is believed to  have  threatened to destroy the  whole world. There are 108 kundas ( lakes)  in Gosainkunda  area . Saraswati Kunda, Bhairab Kunda, Surya Kunda and Gosaikunda are  the famous and visible while walking along  the routes. Every year, these sacred places are visited by thousands of Hindu Pilgrims especially in the month of August. The best season for this trekking is autumn and spring.
