My Experience With Pioneer Adventure- Everest Expedition, 2019
Tong Jeremy - Singapore
Pioneer Adventure is a local company in Nepal in which I entrusted with for my 2nd attempt on the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. I was on Mount Everest in 2017 but cold feet and hands, forced me to turn around at the South Summit at 8700m.
In 2019, I made sponsorship plans with companies and returned back for a 2nd attempt. I decided to go with the full service support of Pioneer Adventure.
I first heard about Pioneer Adventure through a book I read and the young owners, Ngaa Tenji and Lakpa Sherpa were the main driving force behind the guiding and fixing of ropes of K2, the world's 2nd highest peak in the world. That season, many climbers summited with the support of these amazing sherpas and I was impressed.
I contacted them and soon we were on our way to Everest.
They service is amazing. From the pick up at kathmandu airport, to the welcome dinner to the base camp trek. They were generous and you could order whatever you want.
In Base Camp, food was amazing and as I was a Chinese from Singapore, I had the splendid option of having international or chinese food. I chose the latter, of course. Their support in BC was powerful, with fresh fish almost every other day to new kailas tents for every client.
Above Base Camp, they had an amazing cook as well and they had a nice dining tent as well.
For summit push, my Sherpa was Pemba Sherpa who was super super strong and supported me in every way, even going to the extent of helping me with my crampons and making sure my O2 was always enough and flowing. He always gave the thumbs up to check if I was okay on the summit push. Amazing effort by this young chap. 2 summits at 22 years old!
Coming down, I flew out of BC via Heli to Lukla and then all the way to Kathmandu. Amazing generosity and support by this young company.
I would definitely be going with Pioneer for my next few 8000m peaks in Nepal and Pakistan and I'm looking forward to partnering with them. Thank you Pioneer Adventure.
We did it! All the best, Jeremy Tong Singapore Mountain Explorer
