Luxurious Everest Base Camp Trek is a very rewarding trekking trip to the Base Camp. This itinerary is specially designed for those who wish to experience their trekking in the Everest region in a very comfortable way. All our guests will stay overnight at a most luxurious 5-star hotel in Kathmandu before and after the trek and in the mountains at the warm and comfortable hotels and lodges along the trail, consuming the fresh organic food that the areas en route will offer.
While trekking in the Himalayas of Nepal, our special guests will have instant Wi-Fi and internet access, hot shower, world-class hospitality, helicopter ride and so on. Following the classic trail towards Everest Base Camp, they will enjoy walking through the land of the Sherpa people, passing through villages, exploring the world’s highest monastery- Tengboche and of course, enjoying with the spectacular views of Himalayan giants including Everest itself and other peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, Amadablam and many others. The trek further gives an immense opportunity to explore the world heritage site of the Sagarmatha National Park which a home to a variety of Himalayan flora and fauna.
After getting back from Kalapathar (5,545m), next day morning they will take Heli Mountain Flight from Pheriche and float over the sky for a short while until they land at Lukla. While on the Heli flight, they will have an opportunity to take excellent pictures of Mount Everest and other Himalayan giants and take back home for a lifetime memory.
Luxurious Everest Base Camp Trek is reasonably a moderate trek following the well-trodden trails that link the villages of the Khumbu and other prominent locations. Ascent and descent are a natural feature of the trekking in the Himalayas, but neither is particularly sustained as daily walking duration varies between 5-6 hrs. Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Pioneer Adventure representatives will welcome our Guests and assist to transfer them to the Hotel. Today is simply an arrival day and there will not be any organized activities. So, the group will have some free time to relax or walk around for local sights. A brief meeting will be held in the evening at the hotel lobby. Welcome Dinner is followed by the meeting, we will introduce our Trekking Guide and brief on the trek... After breakfast in the Hotel, our city tour Guide will come to pick you up at the Hotel for a sightseeing tour of the world heritage sites that include Kathmandu Durbar Square, this place is steeped with old history and rich culture, visit the old royal durbar square and Hanuman Dhoka (palace), visit the Kumari Goddess (living virgin goddess) resident area where Kumari is of a tender child age, after puberty period replaced by another young Kumari. Visit the famous a freak street famous place of budget tourist and hippies before Thamel was established.
After a nice and interesting tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square a short, we drive towards the west of the city at Swayambhunath Stupa located on a Hilltop, with fabulous views of Kathmandu city, green hills that surround the valley and of high snow-capped mountains.
Swayambhunath is one of the oldest historical sites listed in the world heritage of more than 2,500 years old Buddhist religious complex with huge dome shape stupa with four mystical eyes of Buddha overlooking four directions North, South, East, and West. After an impressive tour visiting the monastery and small chapels this place surrounded by green forest with many monkeys around and this place is also known as “Monkey Temple”.
After Swayambhunath we drive towards a Restaurant where you will be served sumptuous Lunch. After lunch, we will visit Bouddhanath Stupa, also called “Little Tibet” due to strong Tibetan influence in culture, traditions and Buddhist religion, Bouddhanath a huge dome with two tier where one can walk up near the top with nice views of surrounding Bouddhanath area with a shop, stores, restaurants, and Monasteries.
After Boudhanath Stupa we will drive you to Pashupatinath Temple, the most popular Hindu Temple of Lord Shiva. Here you will see the cremation of the dead bodies of Hindus at the bank of the Bagmati River and people worship nearby the river. Lots of Hindu pilgrims from different parts of Nepal and India pay a visit to this holy temple. Every year Shivaratri Festival is celebrated at the Pashupati Temple premises
After a fascinating and lovely historical and cultural tour we return to the Hotel. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu
In the morning after breakfast, we transfer to the Airport from the hotel. It takes 20 min in private transport to reach the Kathmandu Domestic Airport. Then, we board on the flight and after 35-40 minutes reach Tenzing-Hillary airport at Lukla. Here we will have Lunch. Then, we gently head towards Phakding enjoying a perfect scenery view while passing through suspension bridge, Chorten, Mani stone and prayer flags. In the distance we see the beautiful Himalayan Mountains like Karyolung (6511 m), Nupla (5885 m) and Gongla (5813 m). On the way in the middle place at Thado Koshi, we stop for a tea break. After a tea break, we continue our hike for 1 hour to Phakding. Overnight at Phakding.
After breakfast, we continue our trek along the banks of the Dudh Koshi, crossing this majestic river many times on exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags. After entering Sagarmatha National Park, we will have a Lunch break for one hour. Then, we continue the trek following the trail that climbs steeply with breathtaking views. Namche Bazaar is known as the Gateway to Everest is home to many quality Restaurants, Hotels, Lodges, Shops, Money Exchanges, Internet Cafes, and Bakeries. Namche is one of the biggest villages along the whole Everest trail. Overnight at Hotel in Namche.
In the early morning you walk up to the Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters to enjoy the impressive panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and other magnificent peaks if clear weather permits on this day. Then, you will climb up a few staircases and come across Everest View Hotel, one of the highest placed hotels in the world located at an altitude of 3,800 m. Here, we will have some pleasure moment having Tea/Coffee with some Snacks. From the hotel, you can enjoy good views of Everest and other outstanding Mountains. After spending a couple of hours at the hotel, you will descend to Namche Bazaar and visit the Sherpa Culture Museum and Mount Everest documentary Visitor Center. Sherpa Culture Museum is built in traditional Sherpa design and architecture. It has showcased all the old and lost Sherpa artifacts in its original form resembling the Sherpa way of life in the past. The Museum consists of a family living room on the first floor with a separate family praying chapel. Downstairs is the cow stable, yak dung, wood- and hey store just like a traditional Sherpa family house. It is a must visit place in Namche Bazaar. At Tourist Visitor Center you will observe an assortment of things related to the climbing history of Everest Sherpa ascenders and learn about the Sherpa culture and life of the Everest region afternoon slide show. Today our trek from Namche Bazaar is relatively gentle to begin with; the path passes around the ridges and then descends down into the valley to again meet the Dudh Kosi River. From here the trail heads back up through the forest of Rhododendron bushes. When you reach the top there’s a Monastery village called Tyangboche. Here you can get to go inside the Monastery. From this village, we will head down towards Dibuche. Overnight at Lodge in Dibuche.
Leaving Dibuche early morning, after breakfast we follow the contour path through the Rhododendron forest, stunning trees which made us feel as if we were in Paradise! A huge river made its way down over boulders of rapids and waterfalls. We cross the river by a suspension bridge quite a few times. Spectacular scenery is all around.
Then, we gently climb and leave the forests behind us and enter into a scrub type landscape, high up overlooking the river. Lunch will be at an isolated Tea House at Somare perched high up above the river. Below us are seen stone farm houses, which look as if they were built in the Middle Ages.
From there it will be a 2-hour hike up to Dingboche, following a ridge. The village of Dingboche consists of a few tea houses. Overnight at Hotel in Dingboche.
This day is planned as acclimatization day in Dingboche. We don’t make progress towards Everest Base Camp. Instead, we will take a hike to Nangkartshang peak just above Dingboche. The peak is an excellent viewpoint especially for the gorgeous view of Mt. Ama Dablam. If the weather is clear, we will get to see Ama Dablam and many other peaks. Here, you can spend the afternoon strolling around the village. Overnight at Hotel in Dingboche.
Today, the trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. After three hours walk, we will reach Tukkla where we will have Lunch Break for one hour. After lunch we will continue our trek passing by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We continue to climb as we are heading to the village of Lobuche which is located at the foot of the giant Lobuche peak. Overnight at Lodge in Lobuche.
This is a big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5,360m, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. During spring, there will likely be expedition teams about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return to Hotel at GorakShep for the night stay. (Optional: In Mid-April to 25 May our team members can enjoy staying in our Tented Camps at Everest Base Camp. We provide all freshly cooked meals and drinks served by our chef and helpers. It will be a great opportunity to be with our climbing Members and Sherpas at the Base Camp.)
Today it will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of the morning is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patthar, a small peak at 5,545m. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8,848 m, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the giants such as Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to GorakShep and have a hot breakfast, and then trek down to Pheriche. Overnight stay at Lodge in Pheriche.
After breakfast, we leave Pheriche and board the Heli Mountain Flight. The flight from Pheriche to Lukla is pretty short, often only 15-20 minutes flying over 7000m via Khumbu Icefall and its surrounding mountain ranges. During the flight, you’ll see up the close sight of mountains, isolated mountain valley after another, the terraced landscape of Nepal’s interconnected mountain ranges below you. After landing at Lukla we check in Hotel and relax. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, we will have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trekking mates. At the same time, tipping to the Guides and Porters can be done.
Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains, you will take scenic Heli Mountain Flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, Pioneer Adventure representative will meet you at the airport and take you back to the Hotel. After check in at hotel you will have a free time for shopping. In the evening Pioneer Adventure will arrange the Farewell Dinner program for our team Members entertaining them with Traditional Nepalese Cultural Dance Show. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Today is the last day in Nepal and one of our representatives will drop you at the International Airport as per your departure flight time.
