Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), a non-governmental organization working as a national alpine association of Nepal has categorized 33 peaks in Nepal as NMA ‘trekking peaks’ with the elevation between 5,650-6,500m (18,537-21,325ft) All these peaks involve both trekking and climbing and have been graded easy, moderate and challenging according to their appropriate elevation. Nepal Mountaineering Association is the only government authorized body to issue climbing permits for these 33 trekking peaks.
